How to choose concrete poker? Precautions for using it?

Usually buyers have many questions after purchasing concrete pokers from abroad. Today I will answer common questions for you, as well as some key questions that buyers often ask. I hope you can ask more questions or contact us.

1F
What is a concrete vibrator? What are its functions?

A concrete poker, also known as a concrete vibrator shaft or concrete vibrator needle, is a tool commonly used in construction to consolidate freshly poured concrete.

It is used to eliminate air bubbles and excess water in the concrete mix, ensuring the final product is strong, durable and free of voids or pockets.

Vibrating concrete pokers are typically made of steel and contain a rapidly rotating weight in the head, causing vibrations to be transmitted through the concrete.

When wet concrete is poured, air bubbles become trapped in the mix, causing gaps. If not removed, these gaps can create a "honeycombing" effect that compromises the material's strength and longevity. Concrete pokers expel air from the mix, resulting in a more compact and durable end product. These tools also help create a more even, smoother surface.

How do I choose a concrete vibrator suitable for my project?

Poker vibrators used for compacting floors often come with a short shaft, making the machine lighter and easier to carry and attach to the concrete. This type is also called a "handheld poker vibrator" because you hold it while compacting the concrete.

If you are pouring walls or columns, you can use a poker vibrator with a long shaft. Using a longer concrete shaft, you can move the vibrator into the mold, which allows it to compact the mix deep within the form.

Construction companies that handle a variety of projects including construction, landscaping, and civil engineering often use concrete vibrators as part of their inventory.

Civil engineers involved in the design and construction of structures such as bridges, dams, and high-rise buildings rely on concrete to achieve the strength and integrity of concrete components.

3F
I understand its use, but how do I use it specifically?

Preparing the Mix: Make sure to prepare the concrete mix correctly and pour it in the desired area. Make sure the concrete has the right consistency.

Choose the right poker - consider factors such as the size and depth of the concrete pour, accessibility to the area and any specific requirements or restrictions.

Assembling the Poker – A concrete poker may have separate components that need to be assembled. This usually involves attaching the vibrating head to the shaft and tightening it.

Safety Precautions – Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as glasses, gloves and hearing protection. (Noise and dust need to be avoided)

Positioning the Concrete Vibrator – Insert the head of the vibrator into the concrete to a consistent depth.

Vibration - Start the vibration by turning on the power or the engine, depending on the type of concrete poker you are using.

Moving the Concrete Vibrator – Move the vibrator slowly and systematically through the concrete.

Keep your movements smooth and consistent and avoid quick movements that can cause uneven surfaces.

Now that I know how to operate it and I'm done working, how do I maintain this concrete vibrator?

First of all, we need to know which parts of it are worn. The worn parts include the tapered rod, the inner track, and the vibrating bottle (the outer tip that contacts the concrete). If the concrete vibrator stops working, we first need to check whether there is any wear in these three places.

The wear of the vibrating bottle is clearly visible on the outside. It will become rough and the tip will become rounded under continuous operation, and we need to replace it in time.

Regarding the vertebral rod, the general concrete vibrator speed is 2840 rpm and the gasoline engine is 3600 rpm. The vertebral rod will heat up and wear out under high-frequency operation. Its working life is between 100-200 hours. Of course, the track Wear will also occur along with the vertebral rods. They are an integral part and need to be replaced together.

After the concrete vibrator is finished working, we need to clean its internal parts. When not in use, there should be no water, oil and dust inside it. The central flexible shaft needs to add an appropriate amount of butter. We need to add it once every 1-2 weeks ( According to the usage time), after use, we need to wipe off the butter and add new butter, including the internal oil seal and oil seal seat, which must be replaced (one stage after use). If not replaced, the vibrator will leak and affect the vibration of the vibrator. frequency.
