The YZ-T490 tracked skid steer loader represents the perfect blend of ultra-compact design and versatile performance for Europe's tight job sites, indoor projects, and environmentally sensitive areas. This mini tracked skid steer, weighing just 1200 kg and only 1100 mm wide, navigates narrow doorways, greenhouses, stables, warehouses, and urban renovation zones where larger machines cannot operate.
Available in electric (72V high-capacity battery system for zero-emission, low-noise indoor work) or combustion engine variants (Koop, Runtong, or Briggs & Stratton petrol/diesel options up to ~19 kW), the YZ-T490 meets strict EPA and EURO 5 standards, making it fully compliant for EU markets. It delivers a solid 250 kg rated operating capacity (350 kg tipping/load max), 0.12 m³ bucket, 1400 mm dump height, and impressive 595 mm discharge reach — ideal for loading trailers, feeding livestock, material handling, grading, or light digging.
The skid steer T490 demonstrates some competitiveness or differentiation compared to industry averages in a number of key specifications. In terms of power, the T490 offers a choice of configurations, including an 8kW electric version or a 15-19.2kW fuel engine (Koop/Runtong/B&S brands) with a twin-cylinder, naturally-aspirated design that is more common in smaller equipment, but the electric option outperforms most traditional fuel competitors in terms of environmental friendliness. The rated load capacity of 250kg (up to 350kg) is slightly below the common range of 300-400kg for mid-sized skid steers, but the bucket capacity of 0.12m³ is broadly on a par with similar models.
Performance parameters show that the maximum breakout force of 450KN is in the upper mid-range, but the top speed of 6km/h is only half the industry average (around 10-12km/h). The full cycle time of 9 seconds and the system pressure of 17-21bar are in the mainstream range. The unique dual-mode bucket tipping angle (27° ground / 114° high) offers a greater tipping range than conventional designs, but the 1400mm discharge height is slightly less than most models (typically 1600mm+).
In terms of dimensions, the T490 adopts a compact layout: the overall height of 1300mm is lower than average (about 1500mm), the overall length of 2700mm with bucket and 2300mm without bucket belongs to the short wheelbase design, and the width of 1100mm (with standard tires) makes it more suitable for work in narrow spaces. Its 1350mm track grounding length provides better grounding pressure distribution than wheeled models, but its 230mm ground clearance is slightly lower than some competitors.
Overall, the T490 has the advantage in terms of motorization options and compactness, but is slightly less efficient in terms of operating efficiency (speed/unloading height) and some of the load-carrying parameters than the medium-sized standard model, which is more suited to scenarios where environmental friendliness and space adaptability are important.
